About Tanesha
Educator. Mentor. Leader. Lifelong learner.
Where It All Began
Hello! I'm Tanesha Walker.
I'm an elementary educator, instructional leader, mentor, and proud Oakland native who believes that teaching is so much more than delivering lessons—it's about building relationships, creating opportunities, and helping every child recognize their potential.
My journey into education officially began in 2017, but my passion for helping others started long before I stepped into my own classroom.
Growing up in Oakland and attending Oakland public schools shaped my understanding of how meaningful educators can be in a child's life. Those experiences continue to influence how I teach and lead today.
My Journey in Education
My journey has been shaped by a deep belief in educational equity and the power of strong relationships. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Afro-American Studies from UCLA, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
Each role I have held—from classroom teacher to team lead, induction mentor, and instructional coach—has strengthened my commitment to supporting both students and educators
